Đề thi THPT QG năm nào cũng có 01 câu hỏi về trọng âm các từ 02 âm tiết. Bài này giúp bạn ôn nhanh quy tắc trọng âm của các động từ 02 âm tiết (phần I), quy tắc trọng âm của các danh từ 02 âm tiết (phần II) và luyện tập tổng hợp (phần III)

I. Quy tắc cần nhớ về trọng âm các động từ/giới từ hai âm tiết:

Hầu hết các động từ ghép, động từ có hai âm tiết hoặc giới từ thì trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ hai.

Ví dụ: i'rate, in'vent, sur'round, under'stand, over'do, ...

Ngoại lệ:

(1) khi âm tiết thứ hai kết thúc bằng 1 nguyên âm ngắn và 1 phụ âm có dạng: "er, en, ish, age, ..." => trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ nhất. Ví dụ: 'enter, 'manage, 'happen, 'answer, 'finish, ...
(2) khi âm tiết thứ hai kết thúc bằng 1 nguyên âm ngắn (không có phụ âm) => trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ nhất. Ví dụ: 'study, 'marry, ...
(3) khi âm tiết thứ hai có nguyên âm /əʊ/ => trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ nhất. Ví dụ: 'borrow, 'follow, 'narrow,...

II. Quy tắc cần nhớ về trọng âm các danh từ/tính từ 02 âm tiết:

Phần lớn các danh từ/tính từ 02 âm tiết đều được nhấn trọng âm ở âm tiết đầu tiên.

Ví dụ: 'raincoat, 'picture, 'lovely, 'homesick, 'jealous, ...

Ngoại lệ:

Khi âm tiết thứ hai có nguyên âm dài hoặc có nguyên âm đôi => nhấn trọng âm ở âm tiết thứ 2. Ví dụ: de'sign, ba'lloon, mis'take, a'lone, as'leep, ...
