I don’t wake up very early on school days. I always get up at 7.45 am, have a shower, eat breakfast and leave home at 8.30. I know that's not a lot of time, but I don’t like waking up in the morning! And my first lesson is at 9, so I don’t want to be late.

My mum always makes my lunch for me to take to school. I love that because I don't like the food at school at all and I never eat it. And my friends never eat it, so we all bring our lunch to school. It's funny - we eat our lunch in the canteen, but we don’t eat the food they've got there!

I've got three-afternoon activities. On Tuesdays, I have basketball. I play with my friends and we have a nice time. My afternoon activity on Wednesdays is piano lessons. I like them because I like to spend time with the teacher. She's really great! On Thursdays, I have the maths club. I like it because maths is my favorite subject at school.

My parents, my brother and I get home at different times every day. I usually get home at around 4.30 pm. My mum comes to school to get me in the car. My brother's school is near our house, so he walks. He gets home at 4. My dad gets home from work at around 7. We get home at different times, but we eat dinner at the same time - 8 pm, every night!

My two sisters do a lot of the same things together in the evenings. Melissa, who's 13, and Jessica, who's 14, often watch TV together. They play computer games together too. I sometimes play computer games with them, but I never watch TV with them. Melissa and Jessica always do their homework together, but I never do homework with them.

Badgers

Not many people have (0) ever seen a badger. These black and white animals can sometimes the size of a large dog. They live in underground holes in woods and forests in Europe and many of their homes have been there centuries. Scientists have even found bones of badgers 250,000 years ago. The old English word for a badger was ‘brock’ and a few English villages, for example, Brockenhurst and Brockley, have that name.

are lots of children’s books about badgers. In stories, badgers are very old and clever, but in others, they're not nice at all. Certainly, badgers are not very friendly and only come out at night. They live on insects and small animals, but also eat young plants and eggs.

For each question, write the correct answer. Write ONE word for each gap.
