Jim breaks his legs!

Last week, Jim was playing volleyball at school with his friends when he fell over. 'I think my leg's broken!' he said. Mrs. North, his teacher, phoned the hospital. They waited for the ambulance, but after ten minutes, it still wasn't there and Jim started crying. 'I'll take you in my car, Jim,' said his teacher.

She carried Jim carefully to the car and when they arrived at the hospital, the doctor said, 'Yes! I'm sorry! Your leg is broken, Jim. I'd like you to stay in the hospital until the weekend.'

Jim didn’t mind because his friends came to visit him every evening. They brought him some chocolate and some DVDs and comics because the food tasted horrible and because Jim was very bored. On Friday afternoon, the doctor said, 'Well, you can go home now, but you mustn't do any sports.' Jim was sad about that. He loved sports but he understood. 'I know that's important,' he said.

But Jim's parents wanted him to be happy so, that evening at home, Jim's mother smiled and said, 'Look, Jim! I've made your favorite food - a pizza - and Dad's got a video of your favorite football team. You can watch it after dinner.' Jim laughed. 'Wow! Thanks, Mum. Having a broken leg isn’t too bad!' he said. 'Mmmm. I'm hungry!'
