One day last April, I was walking my dog George in the park. It was early in the morning before school, and it was quite so I couldn't see very well. We were walking along a by the river when, suddenly, I heard the of something large falling into the water. Then, I heard a child shouting. "Help! I can't swim!" he said.

There wasn't around and I couldn't see where the sound was coming from, so I turned to George and said, "Go on, boy!" He ran past me and jumped into the river.

"My dog is coming to save you!" I said, "Hold onto him!" Soon, George was pulling a small boy out of the river. He was very wet and very scared. "You're safe now," I said to him.

London Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the world. It was designed and built so people could wild animals. At first, there weren't many animals and only members of a special science club could visit it. Then, after 19 years the zoo people buy tickets to come in. That happened 170 years .

The zoo is in the of London, in a large park. It has many old buildings, which have animals in them. There is an elephant house, a giraffe house and a penguin beach, which has a famous old phone box as well the penguins. People can see something like 20,000 animals in London Zoo. The zoo had few animals that are now extinct in the past, too.

Now, are lions, polar bears, camels and many unusual animals, as well as special places for birds, fish, insects and snakes. London Zoo is famous around the world, and at the one million visitors go to see it every year.

Dino Saves the Forest

Dino was a friendly dinosaur, but he didn't have anyone to talk to. He lived in a cave by a forest. The forest had many other animals, but they all stayed far away from Dino. They were worried that he wanted to eat them. Actually, they didn't need to be afraid because Dino only ate fruit and vegetables! Sometimes, poor Dino felt really sad.

One day, Dino was collecting fruit in the forest when he saw a fire. All the animals were trying to leave as fast as they could. It was terrible! Dino started to run away too, but then he thought, 'I'm the only one that can help. I have to do something!'

He quickly ran to the river and took lots of water in his mouth. Then, he ran back to the forest, and threw the water over the fire. Dino did this again and again, and soon the forest stopped burning.

The forest animals were very happy because their homes were safe. Now, they knew Dino wasn't dangerous and they all wanted to be his friend. "Come and live with us in the forest," a bear said to him. So, Dino left his cave and went to live in the forest with the other animals. They even gave Dino a special job — the forest firefighter!
