Dear Miguel,

I'm writing this letter to you I really want you to know how strongly I believe you have the ability to go far in life, and that I believe staying in school and doing well will help you get there. I'm concerned I understand that you told your mother that you "wanted to be like" your older brother and leave school. You and I both know that, when you put your mind to it, schoolwork is pretty easy for you. However, for some reason, you often decide you just don't want to do it.

from high school is going to open a lot of doors for you in life — for work and for further schooling or training. I hope you make a decision to finish this school year strong and next year with a positive attitude. You are very smart, as your essays and "make-and-breaks" have shown. It would be sad - both for you and for others in your life (including me!) - if you choose not to use all the "smarts" that you do have.

Sincerely,

Mr. Ferlazzo

It's not that bad, don't be worried. you're entering with friends, everything will be fine. was at this winter ball we had. I made friends with two different people. A mean girl, and a girl who was nice. Well, me being stupid, I let the mean girl talk me into pouring water on the nice girl. The plan was for me mean girl, and she'd "accidentally" pour it on her. Both girls were my friends, but I thought it'd make me cool, so I did it. was that the nice girl's mom spent every last minute getting her a dress and her hair done and everything. I felt horrible. After the dance, my mom came up and yelled at the mean girl for doing it, I blamed it all her, and denied me ever having a part in it. The next day, the girl wouldn't talk to me, and she didn't talk to me for the rest of the year, and then asked me to be friends again. I said yes. But to this day, even though we still talk, she's a bad influence, and I regret that day. So be careful what you do and !

At 100 days old and with more than 123,000 votes online, the female giant panda cub at the Smithsonian's National Zoo has a name, Bao Bao. It means "precious" or "'treasure" in Chinese. The Chinese government owns pandas at the zoo here and elsewhere across the USA; the species' only habitat in the wild at present is in China. In Chinese tradition, 100 days marks a big milestone in a baby's life, and the zoo here marked the occasion with a naming ceremony filled with dance and dignitaries. , two scrolls revealed the panda's name in English and Chinese characters. Bao Bao is pronounced bow-bow. "We were ! That is what we wanted and voted for," said Susan Wilmeth, who voted for the name "Bao Bao". "Yay, Bao Bao!" Ling Hua, Long Yun, Mulan, and Zhen Bao were the names voters could also choose. Friends of the National Zoo submitted the chosen name. Bao Bao is only the second surviving cub born at the National Zoo since the first pandas arrived in 1972 to commemorate President Richard Nixon's historic visit to China.

Pandas a happy symbol of diplomacy between the two countries. Panda mother Mei Xiang's only other surviving cub, a male named Tai Shan, was born in 2005 and was returned to China in 2010 for breeding. Male panda Tian Tian is the father of both cubs.

Giant pandas critically endangered in the wild, and breeding them in captivity has have considered are considered proved difficult, especially in Washington. Zoo scientists have made numerous attempts to inseminate its female panda because the pair failed to breed naturally. The new birth has given zoo scientists renewed confidence in the Washington pandas' ability to help grow the panda species. Last year, Mei Xiang gave birth to a cub, but it died after six days because its lungs and weren't sending enough oxygen to its liver. The zoo's first panda couple, Ling Ling and Hsing Hsing, had five cubs during the 1980s, though none lived more than a few days.
