Letter 1:

Dear Tom,
I can't believe that it's been a year since we last met. How're things? Anything new?
We have moved to a new apartment, and no longer live in a house with so many of my relatives. We live on the 17th floor, but it's not a problem 'cause the lift is great.
My sis and I now have our own rooms, with a computer and a bookshelf. So great! I like the feeling of being alone in my room, watching the night life of the city through the window.
I wish you were here to see my dream room!
Stay in touch, and do write!
Duong

Dear Nick,
It's great to know that you have been accepted to King's College School. Congrats!
I am happy to tell you that I have been granted an ASEAN scholarship by Singapore's Ministry of Education. I'm very lucky; other kids in my class are still hunting for scholarships.
My parents were proud of me, but they are still worried I am too young to live so far away from home. My mum said that I'm still a bit young to be going to an overseas school.
I'm worried too, but I'm sure everything will be okay.
Hope to hear from you soon!
