How to protect your skin while swimming

1. Swim in an outdoor pool or in freshwater.

Outdoor pools allow the chemicals in the water to escape into the air, leaving less of them that can damage your skin. Freshwater pools have clean water and do not have salt or other substances that can damage your skin.

2. Do not stay in the water for too long.

Over time, your skin will start to feel dry due to the chemicals in the pool. Take breaks out of the water and try not to stay in the water for longer than two to three hours at a time.

3. Follow a regular before and after swimming routine.

Make sure you take a shower and put on sunscreen before swimming in the pool or the ocean. Then, always shower right away when you get out of the water. You should put lotion on your skin after that to make it soft.

Why should we swim in an outdoor swimming pool?

  • It has more salt than in an indoor swimming pool.

I am very happy to read your e-mail. I went to Vietnam for a summer camp. At the camp, I learned to sing some traditional Vietnamese songs and cook popular dishes. I went hiking in the national park and played football and volleyball. I liked doing outdoor activities but I did not like cultural events much. I spent two weeks at the camp and I had a wonderful time. I made more friends and we still chat to each other now.

See you soon.
