After the beauty contests, she became well-known for her outstanding beauty, her amazing characteristics, and also her professionalism.
- Do you like celebrities? Why/Why not?
Personally, I take an avid interest in showbiz because (Reason) I always feel curious about their attractiveness on stage as well as the buzz about their private life.
- Have you ever seen any celebrity in public?
When I was a student at university, I went to several live music concerts held on campus. There were famous artists performing in those concerts so, to answer your question, yes, I have seen some celebrities, literally, but I have never had a chance to meet or talk with any of them in person.

The celebrity whom I would like to meet in person is definitely David Beckham. David was a professional English footballer who played for the world’s most renowned football clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid. He was named in the list of 100 greatest living football players of FIFA back in 2004.
Besides his career as a sportsman, David is also famous for his marriage to Victoria Beckham, an equally successful model, singer and fashion designer, with four children. This has been considered one of the happiest celebrity marriages and partnerships.
David Beckham is my biggest idol not only because of his legendary football skills but also because he is very modest and kind as a person. He was seen offering a hand to a photographer who fell while trying to photograph him. Also, according to his wife, David Beckham is a devoted husband and father who always puts his family first.
If I ever had a chance, I would take David Beckham to my favorite restaurants in Hanoi and introduce Vietnamese food to him. Of course, I would take pictures with him too, to post on my Facebook wall but the most important thing would be for me to talk with him, learn from him, and be inspired by this man.

I think there are several ways that people can become renowned. The first one is that some people are gifted with talents such as singing or acting. They can show their own abilities so that other people can recognize them. In addition, some individuals become famous simply because they use scandals to grab others’ attention. Besides, some people rise to stardom just because they are good-looking.
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a celebrity?
I think there are many good things about rising to stardom. Firstly, you will be well-known for your talents and you will have many fans that always love and support you with cordiality. Secondly, you can profit from it and your monthly income is double or triple the normal. Besides, there are some disadvantages to this. Because you are a person of the public, you will lose personal freedom. When you go somewhere, you must be careful about all of your actions to avoid scandals. Simultaneously, you have to work with a busy schedule from morning to night, even until midnight. This probably will affect adversely your health.
- What influences can famous people have on society?
Celebrities have great influences on society both on positive and negative sides. Some famous people can serve as a good role model for youngsters because of their perseverance and excellence. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo is a good example of many young footballers the fact that hard work will pay off. However, some renowned individuals can have negative impacts on society in some way. For example, some celebrities who are in the habit of drinking and smoking or in other words normalize substance use affect negatively those who idolize them, and their fans can want to be like their idols.

You know there are many kinds of advertisements, from traditional to the more advanced digital ones that use often spot when you browse websites or social media. Personally, I’m big on social media advertising because I can watch them at my own pace, whereas adverts on television, for example, are only screened for a few seconds so I might miss out on some important information. Another merit of social media adverts is their very creative and interesting content, drawing a lot of attention from netizens. I love reading their comments about the advertisement to reaffirm my belief about the product or service quality.
- Do you like watching advertisements on TV?
I have to say that I developed an interest in watching advertisements when I was a little child. They can be considered a kind of entertainment with very beautiful scenes. They are extremely relaxing, brief, and eye-catching.
- Where can you see advertisements?
Advertisements exist in many forms and can be found literally anywhere. When you go out the street, you can see random posters and banners of the newest plays on the houses’ walls, LED screens, and billboards showcasing expensive handbags and accessories. When you turn on any channel on TV or log into a website, Facebook, for instance, you can see pictures and videos showing viral slogans of products. Basically, advertisements are really ingrained in every aspect of our lives.

Among the advertisements which are on TV or social media recently, I am really into seeing the one from Shopee Vietnam, which is a famous E-commerce service.
Well, I love that because firstly, it has celebrity endorsement of talented goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung and famous singer Bao Anh. The two have got certain achievements in their own career, became rising stars and they have been so popular with most people. In the advertisement, they wear matching clothes and look so good together; therefore, it is easy to see that the commercial has received a huge number of views on social media such as Facebook or Youtube.
Secondly, it has unique and funny music. The theme song for this advertisement is a remixed song from the original “Baby shark” for kids. It sounds very catchy and makes me want to dance and sing along every time I see it. Although some people may not like it as the song is overplayed, many people agree with me that we are obsessed with it now and we still like it a lot. Additionally, I think this may be an effective and creative way of advertising, which helps the brand image grow more impressively into customers’ mind.
In my point of view, all the governments and individuals should make joint efforts to solve the problem. Our government has been encouraging people to spend money in order to promote economic development. But as an individual, I guess the best policy is to save enough money and try to develop an economical lifestyle.

- Do you think that advertisement on TV nowadays causes inconvenience for people?
As a matter of fact, the amount of time for commercials is roughly one-third of that for a TV program, which is very annoying. Actually, despite being interested in watching advertisements, I myself feel that they are really interrupting when I am enjoying a good film series or TV show. Normal advertisements are fine but those with inappropriate content, for example, those which are violent or adult-related issues may trigger anger in people.
- Why do some people hate advertisements?
Well, I can think of two key rationales behind people’s negative attitudes towards adverts. Also, I suspect that many people are simply fed up with the sheer abundance of adverts these days. I mean, no matter how patient a person is, he or she can only tolerate so many commercial breaks during their favorite television program or YouTube videos. So basically, I think most people detest advertisements due to a lack of either trust or tolerance.
- Do you think advertising influences what people buy?
Yeah sure. If there are no ads and you go to a store, then you will only buy what you want based on what other people have told you, what the product looks like, or what it says on the label. Advertising helps build a brand, and people then believe a certain thing because they have seen it on television or elsewhere. Also, there is a lot of advertising around that affects us. You can’t get rid of it because it is constantly included in our daily lives, not only in magazines, radio, and television, but also on billboards, on TVs installed on trains and airplanes, and even at schools and universities. So surely advertising influences what we buy.
Do advertisements give correct information, or do they encourage people to buy things that they may not need?

- Are you a social person?

While many people my age have moved on to Snapchat or TikTok, Instagram remains my favorite social media site for a variety of reasons. I started using this app five years ago when I started experimenting with photography and I find that it is an application that allows me to express myself creatively, by using various filters for my photography or videos to create the effect I desire.
I have accumulated a rather large number of followers over the years, but I certainly would not call myself an influencer. I now use the application at least 3 times a week to post stories or to dm my friends and followers.
I still enjoy using Instagram very much and would absolutely recommend it to others … but you do need to have thick skin if you amass a large following. I have had people make derogatory comments to me which can be rather upsetting but fortunately you can block them easily. I have been fortunate so far, but some people I know have been victims of catfishing, which can be traumatic.

Well, it is obvious that social media has received incredible growth in the past few years. The first reason may be that these social platforms are convenient and multi-functional which help people to do a number of things; for instance, making video call with others or seeing their daily pictures and activities. Additionally, I think it is the emergence of different kinds of smart phone that enable people to get easier access to available social media applications and thus use them more often.
- What types of websites are popular among your generation?
Being a person of the young generation, who has either finished their studies or has just started their careers, I would say that websites on news, job postings, social networking, entertainment industry, sports and e-commerce are probably the most popular among our generation. However, job sites probably would top them all because there is a huge number of unemployed youth in my country, and they just like to surf through those websites in order to improve their opportunities to land on a new job or better job. E-commerce websites don’t fall very far behind the job sites because they also attract a lot of young visitors for obvious reasons. Finally, social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter are hugely popular among those youths.
- Why do you think bullying on the internet has become so widespread?
I think cyberbullies and trolls generally feel that a shield of anonymity protects them. Many people are on social media area out there with dummy profiles harassing people at will and I guess like in all kinds of bullying, it makes the bully feel important or worthy. So the bully gets the validation he or she needs without any of the repercussions that might occur if the bullying were to take place in the real world.
- Do you think people will social media more or less in the future?
- Is using the internet a social or solitary activity? Why?
- How has the internet changed social behavior?
