  Well, I would say that I’m not a picky eater and I can eat like the whole universe. But if I have to choose, I would definitely go for Vietnamese traditional cuisine because although it does not win any points for complexity, it is all about the combination of fresh ingredients, intense flavours, and ease of cooking and preparation, so it wins my heart.

• On what occasions do you eat special foods?
  I eat special foods on special occasions like birthday parties, weddings, New Year and etc. Even on small and simple gatherings, there are special foods too

• Which foods from your country do most foreign people enjoy?
  I think foreign people are always eager to try local and exotic foods. Tourists and foreigners eat our local and traditional foods in my country.
  
  
• What is your main meal in the day?
• Who does the cooking in your family?
• Can you cook?

You should say:

• And explain how you felt about it

I’m going to talk about the first time that I ate pancakes for breakfast. A couple years ago, I was visiting my cousin who lived in the USA at the time. I was really hungry and when my cousin came to pick me up at the airport, so I asked her to drive to an American food restaurant.

She took me to a small and packed restaurant. Later, I found out it was a pancake house. The restaurant seemed like it was run by a family. None of the tables were available so we had to wait to be seated. My cousin explained that the other customers were Sunday church goers.

Eventually, we got seated and my cousin ordered me what was called “Buttermilk Pancakes”. When the order was served, I was astonished by the size of the portion. It was enough to feed me twice. Visually, it was really appealing. There were about 5-6 fluffy pancakes stacked on top of each other. Their colours were light brown on the surface and cream yellow on the side. A piece of butter was placed at the very top, it was being melted by the heat and dripped down.

I poured just a little bit of maple syrup and ate them. The first bite in, I tasted a combination of sweetness and richness of butter. I liked cakes in general and I had a sweet tooth. Naturally, I became a fan but I could only eat about half of the portion.

After the trip, I even learned how to make the dish and now I have my own recipe to save me from the occasional cravings.

• Do people in your country like to drink coffee?
  Of course we do. Vietnam is home to one of the best coffee beans in the world; you know we have our coffee served with coffee filters, people have a sip of coffee, either hot or iced, before they commute to work. It’s not an overstatement to say that if you don’t see coffee in Vietnam, you’re definitely visiting a wrong country.

• Describe what you think is a healthy diet
  I think it is a lot less complicated than most people think, even if it isn’t as simple to follow all the time. A balanced diet should include sufficient foods from each of the basic food groups. Eating a variety of foods from each of these groups will guarantee that your body will receive all the nutrients and vitamins it needs to function.

• How healthy is your country’s food?
  It is the choice of the people whether to eat healthy or unhealthy food. In my country, there are many choices of healthy food especially vegetables and fruits. However, I don’t think that people eat much healthy foods nowadays because of the presence of fast food and processed foods. Also, many dishes in my country is usually greasy and salty which I think are not very healthy.
  
  
• What are young people’s opinions about new food?
• More and more people are unwilling to cook. Why is this happening?
• Why do young people like studying in a café instead of studying at home?
